Tips n Trick Answering TOEFL Test

here is some tips n trick in answering toefl test (ITP PBT)

 

institutional Toefl Program - Paper Based Test

 

Listening Section

 

you have 2 choices

 

    1. Listen to the talk first, then answer all the question ( Not recommended for beginners)

    2. While listening , read the possible answer

 

if u choose the 1st choice, Pay attention closely to all the conversation

 

if u choose the 2nd choice , as u listen , eliminate all the "possibly wrong" answer. Do Not choose one answer before u actually hear the question though :D

 

The 1st section of listening test usually 1 talk for 1 Question...this should be easy :)

 

Structure section

 

Do a lot of practice please....

 

spend at least 2 hour in one day within (at least) one weeks to practice structure

 

believe it or not...some questions are patterned...

 

Reading Section

 

this section is the easiest and the most boring part...

 

Reading!!

 

1. Find specific Question with "lines"

    example :

    word refference (the word "it" in lines X refer to..etc etc)

   

    go directly to line specified...

2. Use ur knowledge bout vocabulary

    example:

    what does "spectacle" means...

    but be carefull....

    u can't use this trick on ALL vocabulary question :D

 

3. Scan For Specific words

    first read the question, and then decide what's the key point of that question.

    then scan for that key point in the text...

 

4. focus on names and detailed info...

 

5. " What's the text all about" questions...

        Read the text..and take ur time (sorry, can't give any solution for this :D)

   

6. All The Answer is in the Text

    yap..I Know u already know bout this...

    but incase u stuck in one question...just read again...slowly :D

 

 

One thing for toefl test...

 

Please....GUESS if u dunno the answer...

 

there's no penalty for wrong answer though :D

 

but please..make an intellegent one :D
